Things to do in Fall in Milwaukee
The leaves are changing, the temps are cooling, and pumpkin spice is in all of our foods. It’s Fall! Even if you don’t look forward to the chillier weather, it’s hard to deny the beauty of the changing colors. Whether you want to enjoy the colors of the season or prefer the warmth of indoor events, here is a list of things to do in Fall in the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area.
Gallery Night and Day will take over the streets of the Milwaukee on Friday, October 19, and Saturday, October 20. This long-standing tradition of celebrating artists throughout our communities is a great way to explore, browse, shop, and have fun. Galleries, museums, restaurants, shops, and more will display all forms of visual and performing arts.
The 14th Annual Hunting Moon Pow Wow is three days of celebrating Native American culture and tradition. Starting on Friday, October 19 and running through Sunday, October 21, tribes from across the US and Canada come together for singing, dancing, and drumming. There will also be many food and craft vendors. If you’ve never been to a Pow Wow, head down to the Wisconsin Center for an exciting vibrant celebration of culture. This event is FREE to the public.
The Great Pumpkin Festival of Whitefish Bay runs October 24 through October 28, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. each night. Wander through the pumpkin patch, pick out your favorite, and head over to the carving tent. The pumpkins, carving tools, and candles are all FREE! There will be live music for entertainment and local food vendors with delicious treats.
Veterans Day
The 5th Annual Military & Veterans Ball will be held on November 2, at Hilton City Center in downtown Milwaukee. The event is open to all military personnel and veterans, as well as civilian community supporters. This year’s theme is “Casablanca”, and there will be a cocktail party along, dinner, and a silent auction with proceeds going to support Veterans For Diversity. Click here for ticket information.
The 55th Annual Veterans Day of Honor will be Commemorating the WWI Centennial on Saturday, November 10. The parade starts at 11:00 a.m. at the corner of Plankinton and Kilbourn and heads east to Prospect Avenue. The route takes a right onto Prospect Ave, towards Mason St, and then over the Mason Street Bridge and past the War Memorial into Veterans Park.
