Things to do in Milwaukee in February
February is cold and your home is warm, but don’t get caught with cabin fever this winter! There are plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy what the community has to offer. Here are a few options to get you out of the house this month:
- Amazing performers, colorful costumes, and beautiful backgrounds all combine to create the mesmerizing show, Shen You: 5,000 Years of Civilization Reborn. The talented dancers, drummers, and vocalists will give you a sensational show, bringing the story of Chinese civilization to life, transporting you to faraway lands and sharing ancient legends through stunning visuals. - Milwaukee County Parks is having a Groundhog Day Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser at the Wehr Nature Center on February 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you’re a cook, sign up to enter your best chilli into the contest. If you’re just a fan of yummy food, come out to try all of the chili’s and vote for your favorite! When you purchase a ticket, you will get an assortment of side dishes, corn bread, desserts, and one glass of wine or beer.
- The Milwaukee Art Museum will have a Gallery Talk on the Portrait of Milwaukee exhibit on February 25, at 1:30 p.m. The exhibit shows many different aspects of the city including the neighborhoods, small businesses, industry, architecture, and people through photographs. The images come range from the 1930’s to the 2010’s and highlight what has made Milwaukee the city it is today.
